Cathie  Curran  Commission

I was asked by Cathie Curran, who was a great friend and patron of mine to paint a blind for the window in her kitchen of the apartment in New York that she was moving to after leaving London. 

The window looked out onto a rather forbidding scene of the fire escape structure of the building and since she had lived for many years in a house on Chester Square in London she asked me if I would paint an image of the view from her house in Chester Square as a way of remembering her time in London.  It was not the kind of thing that I would naturally like to do but because she was a great friend I was happy to agree to do it for her.
